Personalities Plus

Artists: Vicki Plutchok, Ann Syer, and Donna Natsoulas

Date: October 31 – November 23, 2008

Reception: Friday, November 14, 7:30 to 9:30 P.M.

Three vivacious friends showcase their unique purses and luxurious hand painted silk creations. Vicki fashions hand-knit and felted pocketbooks that range from evening purses to larger carry-alls. Inspired by the color and texture of wool, Vicki adorns the purses with ceramic & antique buttons, deco pins and clips.

Ann and Vicki both fashion sumptuous silk scarves and accessories. Ann has painted on silk and created batiks for 35 years. You will delight in the various, stunning effects she achieves. An award winning artist she has taught textile arts and paper techniques throughout California and Illinois. Her "Fallen Leaf Lake" was the official poster for the Tahoe Marathon 2000.

Donna uses vintage purses, from the '40's and '50s, as canvases for paintings that pay tribute to an optimistic past. She embellishes each with vintage tin toys that reflect an innocent, confident age, fascinated with Space. She captures the sharp, beautifully detailed graphics of these playthings. Today's women will love these retro purses.

These personalities usher in the festive season with this super show.
